Literarischer Sommer: Lize Spit liest aus "Autobiographie meines Körpers"

When Lize receives an email from her mother telling her daughter in brief words that she is seriously ill with cancer, this news sets a process in motion, a process of coming to terms with her own family, her place in it and with her body, in which what she has experienced, suffered and unsaid is inscribed.

It actually looks like an ordinary childhood in a small Belgian village in the 1990s. But Lize's mother is an alcoholic and her father is unpredictable; Lize's upbringing is characterized by fears and emotional abuse. She can't talk to anyone about her problems. It is only when Lize learns about her mother's illness that she seeks out a conversation in order to find out about herself.
Lize Spit was born in 1988, grew up in a small village in Flanders and now lives in Brussels. She writes novels, screenplays and short stories. Her first novel "And it melts" was number one on the Belgian bestseller list for a year after its publication and won numerous literary prizes. This was followed by the equally highly acclaimed novels "Ich bin nicht da" and "Der ehrliche Finder".
