"Lord of the Dance" has always enjoyed an outstanding international reputation: since its premiere, "Lord of the Dance" has visited more than 1,000 venues around the world and thrilled more than 60 million people in 60 countries on every continent. The breathtaking, thrilling, magical show became one of the most successful dance productions in the world within a very short time. In 2022, nearly 100,000 spectators attended the grand anniversary tour of "Lord of the Dance." In 2024, the dance show returns to the big stages and on April 8, 2024, it will make a guest appearance at the LANXESS arena.
The scale of the phenomenal success of "Lord of the Dance" is immense: Michael Flatley hit an international audience of millions around the globe right at the heart, received countless awards, broke theater records worldwide and helped the art of traditional Irish dance to world fame and unprecedented global recognition. The unique combination of high-energy dance at the highest artistic level, amazing aerial acrobatics, original Celtic music, clever yet entertaining storytelling, and a subtle sensuality has captivated audiences around the world.
In the spring of 2024, the famous "clack" will finally be heard again on stages. With some sensational innovations and original enhancements, Michael Flatley will not simply revive the original concept of "Lord of the Dance", but rather translate it into today's world, enchanting entirely new generations of fans. Described by the Los Angeles Times as a "showpiece extravaganza," the show will transport audiences to a time and place of myth and fantasy with more than 150,000 taps per performance, and will literally take audiences by storm with an explosive mix of thrilling performances, an artfully staged lightshow and spectacular pyrotechnics. Fans can look forward to a fantastic journey with sophisticated costumes and sensational choreography, as well as state-of-the-art technology, lighting effects and numerous moments of surprise: 40 of the world's most outstanding young dancers, directed by Michael Flatley and featuring new music by composer Gerard Fahy, will present a show that combines the best of tradition, entertainment, music and dance.
