Loreena McKennitt

For over three decades, Canadian artist LOREENA MCKENNITT has been exploring the diverse aspects of Celtic music, a unique symbiosis of folk, world music and pop. Seemingly effortlessly, she combines instrumental and vocal perfection and emotion into a sound costume that enchants the listener. The passionate globetrotter will be touring Europe in spring 2027. The celebrated performer will also be coming to Germany and Austria from March 3 to 23. The tour schedule includes concerts in Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover, Bremen, Mannheim, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Zwickau, Leipzig, Berlin, Vienna, Munich and Nuremberg.
The focus of the upcoming tour will be on her defining album "The Mask and The Mirror", as well as other fan favorites. LOREENA MCKENNITT will be accompanied on this concert tour by five of her long-time companions: Caroline Lavelle (cello), Brian Hughes (guitar), Hugh Marsh (violin), Dudley Phillips (bass) and Robert Brian (drums). In the first part of the evening she presents her most popular songs, in the second part "The Mask and The Mirror" in the original order of the album released in 1994.
LOREENA MCKENNITT explains that she followed "paths of inspiration" on "The Mask and The Mirror" and that the album explores "essential human questions" about the existence of God, religion and spirituality. "What has been revealed and what has remained hidden, what was the mask and what was the mirror? We are excited to return to Europe for another chapter and we can't wait to see everyone again and share our music."
Their acclaimed performances are composed of music and storytelling inspired by LOREENA MCKENNITT's exotic exploration of Celtic history. Songs, for example, are combined with mystical Irish poems by Yeats and Keats as well as texts by classical writers such as Shakespeare and Tennyson. Intimacy interwoven with personal, inspiring stories characterize LOREENA MCKENNITT's concerts. Her crystal-clear soprano voice and her versatility as an instrumentalist on harp, piano and bandonion are and remain her trademarks.
