Lucas Laufen’s music can best be described as a form of therapy. His sensitive folk effortlessly frees listeners from stress, sadness, and worries. Melancholic falsetto melodies, paired with shimmering guitars in minimalist arrangements that rise and fall—they invite you to pause, take a deep breath, and escape the daily clamor.

Raised in the small fishing town of Port Lincoln, Australia, Lucas was a passionate pianist at age eight and an enthusiastic trumpeter at ten. It wasn’t until his teenage years that he discovered the acoustic guitar and developed a deep, unique passion for songwriting.

Lucas is an exceptionally dedicated and hardworking artist. Since arriving in Europe, he has toured extensively across the continent, played over 300 concerts, and built a loyal following—including a performance at Live At Heart as well as opening for Hollow Coves, Julia Jacklin, Paul Dempsey, and Billie Marten.

Like many others, the COVID-19 pandemic put a damper on Lucas’s active touring life. However, the songwriter used the time productively and retreated to the studio—in collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Antonio Pulli, he created his second studio album, “Weathering.” The album is an impressive artistic statement that blends neoclassical and folk. For the album’s release in 2021 and 2022, Lucas is once again collaborating with Embassy of Music, accompanied by a new concert series across Europe and beyond.
