Magdalena Kožená is at the center of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra's second Morgen Musik. In 2020, Israeli-born composer Ohad Ben-Ari created his song cycle "Paterson" for her unique voice, which was inspired by Jim Jarmusch's film of the same name and can be heard for the first time in Hamburg. The mezzo-soprano then demonstrates her brilliance with Messiaen's "Poèmes pour Mi" - a sparkling and fervent homage to marriage as a bridge between human and divine love.

Debussy's "Pelléas et Mélisande" is well known to opera lovers as a masterpiece of music theater. Gabriel Fauré also set the enigmatic subject to music and created a suite that is considered his most beautiful orchestral work and forms the prelude to the program. The matinee, at which the symphony orchestra will once again welcome Gergely Madaras, will be rounded off with Smetana's infinitely beautiful and powerfully moving tone poem "Die Moldau", which will send the audience off into Sunday afternoon inspired.
