Reading & Discussion: “Magnolias”
The novel by Polish-Berlin author Agata Koch is being presented in German for the first time. In her debut novel, the author, who hails from Milanów (eastern Poland), embarks on a journey to discover her roots. The novel takes readers through memories of childhood, coming of age, and later life experiences between Poland and Berlin, weaving her personal story with the backdrop of historical upheavals in Europe. In doing so, she explores questions of identity, memory, life’s journey, and the courage to make one’s own decisions.
