Who cleans up when the party's over? The portrait of a radical artist who focuses on the work that usually remains invisible. In collaboration with the New York City Sanitation Department, Mierle Laderman combines Ukulele's art with garbage collection and turns maintenance into an artistic practice. Archival material and a playful visual language trace her performative approach and ecofeminist thinking. The result is a vivid picture of care as a political act - and of the power of the everyday to hold our society together.
