About the film: The documentary "Mantra - Sounds into Silence" follows people who draw strength from singing together. Director Georgia Wyss observes how mantras are becoming an integral part of spiritual practice worldwide. Musicians such as Krishna Das and Deva Premal perform and share their personal experiences. They report on how this form of music supports emotional processes and strengthens a sense of community. At the same time, recordings from India, Greece and Spain show how strongly rituals can unite people. These scenes take place in temples, at retreats or concerts - always accompanied by voices, sounds and quiet moments.

The film is accompanied by a short input on the topic from Carmen: "Singing is the true mother tongue of the human being, because it is the most natural and simplest way in which we are undivided and can communicate fully - with all our experiences, feelings and hopes. Singing is first and foremost the dance of the breath, of the soul, but it can also free our bodies from any torpor into dance and teach us the rhythm of life. Singing unfolds to the extent that it grows out of listening and attentive hearing. By singing, we can refine our ability to listen to our fellow human beings and the world around us.
