Mar Malade

The desire to experiment, the irrepressible joy of playing, being on the road together, but always a little melancholy, nostalgia and loneliness: Mar Malade present with their second album "Balloon" a sparkling playful fireworks of their indie pop that sounds so not at all like Germany. And impressively prove how diverse the musical universe of the duo of Alexander Hauer and Michèl M. Almeida has become. With their debut album "MAR Malade", Mar Malade made it to Hamburg, where they sang their song "Poster Girl" in front of an audience of millions at "Ina's Nacht". Actually "Mar Malade" didn't start with the intention to form a band together: Alexander and Michèl were friends, met regularly for coffee, and at some point one of them picked up a guitar on a whim.

Over time, the first joint recordings grew into an entire album with a constant monthly Spotify listenership of over 350,000. In the summer of 2022, the next single "Jungle" followed, as well as first festivals, including on the Mainstage at Dockville. In October, the duo then played their first own "Jungle" tour with sold-out concerts in Hamburg, Munich or Berlin. Now follows with "Balloon" the second album of the band and the journey continues. In November on their second big headline tour. Bigger clubs, bigger show, but the core remains the same: two friends who create their own little world and make people dream, spin and dance.
