MAR MALADE - Tourists Tour

Mar Malade’s songs are like a musical vacation. Originally born out of two friends’ desire to escape the daily grind, Mar Malade—composed of Alexander Hauer and Michèl M. Almeida—has since released three albums “full of summer” and performed their songs (including “Mexico,” “Cabriolet,” “Jungle”) on concert tours throughout Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

In doing so, Mar Malade and their multi-instrumental live band not only present their music—sometimes energetic, sometimes playful, sometimes nostalgic—with an irrepressible joy of playing (the kind your grandma would have allowed you as a child, but then again, she’s the one who makes that sticky-sweet jam) —but also throw in the occasional entertaining and quirky moment between songs. The drummer reads from the local press and recites the horoscopes for all the Steinböcke in the hall; Alexander sings the classic hiking song “Hejo, spann den Wagen an” with the audience; or Michèl wanders across the stage miming like Helge Schneider in his “Sportsman” persona. This is how, on every night of a Mar Malade tour, a unique, cozy atmosphere full of music, joy, and shared moments for and with their audience is created.
