Martinsumzug – Rabimmel, rabammel, rabumm!
In the organizer's words:
With horses and cloaks: Every year, the IG-Münsterstraße and the Keuning.haus organize a traditional St. Martin’s procession through the Nordstadt. With pretzels, colorful lanterns, music, and a traditional St. Martin’s performance at the Keuning.haus—and, of course, with you! The meeting point is the Eisengießer Fountain at Steinplatz, at the corner of Münsterstraße and Heiligegartenstraße.
At 6:00 p.m., St. Martin sets off on horseback and makes his way down Münsterstraße, then along Heckenstraße to the Keuning.haus. There, against a lovingly designed backdrop, the legend of St. Martin will be read aloud and acted out. The procession will be accompanied by the marching band of the Northern Schützenbund, playing the well-known lantern songs. Afterward, the IG-Münsterstraße will hand out free St. Martin’s pretzels to the children.
