It is not without good reason that the harp is regarded as an instrument that can both appease the gods of the underworld and establish contact with heaven. American harpist Mary Lattimore is proof of this, having taken genres such as pop, ambient and RnB to new heights with a new generation of harpists such as Joanna Newsom and Sophye Soliveau. On five studio albums to date, Lattimore has written songs about mermaids, ghost forests or hotels in Croatia, capturing moments and memories so intensely that the music magazine Pitchfork wrote that she has "the uncanny ability to strike a string in such a way that someone instantly remembers the taste of their fifth birthday cake". Her latest album "TRAGIC MAGIC", which she recorded at the Philharmonie de Paris together with musician Julianna Barwick, was released in January. "There were experiments in this direction in the early crossovers of ambient with folk, but no album has yet achieved this beauty ... a heavenly experience. A delicate, subtle, sublime masterpiece", wrote HHV Mag. Now Mary Lattimore is also opening transcendental doors in Hamburg in a solo concert at St. Gertrud Church.
