Matthias Egersdörfer - "langsam"
In the organizer's words:
Matthias Egersdörfer – “Slow”
The present is organized at a breakneck pace: news stories come thick and fast, disasters flash across our screens every second, and even in everyday life, every movement seems to be under suspicion of not being fast enough.
Matthias Egersdörfer counters this general acceleration with his very own brand of perseverance. He chops onions slowly, thinks slowly, and usually doesn’t speak particularly fast either. Consequently, the creation of his show “Slow” also took quite some time.
With a languid force, Egersdörfer resists the world’s speed. His stories take up the space they need—until the supposed calm suddenly transforms into the explosive outrage for which the Franconian cabaret artist is known. Because even those who think slowly can get thoroughly worked up about everything and nothing.
“langsam” is a cabaret evening about time pressure, the overwhelming demands of everyday life, and the subversive power of occasionally resisting the general rush. The show was awarded the 2024 German Cabaret Prize.
