Who is Mowgli really?

In Kippling's jungle books, he is much more than Walt Disney's little boy who is raised by wolves but sent back to humans. Mowgli walks self-determinedly between nature and civilization, cultures and worlds. He searches for belonging and thus for himself.

The new stage adaptation of Éva Adorján's Jungle Book novels accompanies a child through the thicket of hurdles and expectations on his way to growing up and finding his own strength. Mowgli is and remains a bit of a stranger everywhere, even though he internalizes and follows all the rules: He will never become a "real" wolf, nor does he really warm to the people whose language and habits he barely knows. A situation that many children today struggle with silently but hard. Mowgli. Wolves don't cry deals with exclusion and solidarity, communities and their boundaries and, by reworking a controversial classic, draws attention to a problem that remains relevant throughout the ages.

Following the successful production of MOMO 2023, the new production by the intergenerational theater ensemble once again brings a difficult but important topic to the stage in a child-friendly way, with lots of music, humor and emotion. Over 20 children, young people and adults aged between 7 and 60 perform together and break down the usual genre boundaries. They skillfully integrate music, acrobatics and dance into theatrical scenes and thus jump back and forth between the worlds themselves.

A production that questions familiar categories and affiliations on all levels in order to connect and bring people together.
