MOLAYA emerged from a deep-rooted musical connection: Johanna and Justus Mohr, siblings and the creative core of the project, grew up in an artistic household where music and art were ever-present—shaped by shared jam sessions, musical family gatherings, and natural access to a wide variety of instruments.

Today, they bring this creative and vibrant energy together in MOLAYA. Enhanced by the dynamics of a band, they’ve evolved from their family roots into a distinct artistic identity.

With their debut EP “14 Suns and Moons” (2023), MOLAYA presents a multi-layered sound rooted in pop without being confined to it. Warm, intertwining vocals meet an organic interplay of synthesizers, guitar, bass, and

percussion. Their latest songs, too, navigate between lightness and depth—playful, rhythmic, and at the same time infused with subtle melancholic nuances.

“14 Suns and Moons” marks the beginning of a shared musical journey—as a band that is aware of its roots while simultaneously looking boldly toward the future.
