by Michael Ende, adapted for the stage by Vita Huber
recommended for ages 8 and up
She just appears one day in town. Where she comes from, how old she is, nobody really knows. She is suddenly there and brings with her what we all have too little of: Time, attention, patience, peace and joy.
But shortly after Momo's appearance, strange creatures besiege the town. Using cruel tricks, the Grey Lords extract time from the city's inhabitants and infect them with careerism, greed and agitation. The Grey Lords spread through the city like a virus. People have less and less time for each other, for conversations, for games. They numb themselves with toys, machines, work and more work.
Momo soon sits alone in the amphitheater, since no one comes to visit her anymore. So she decides to take up the fight against the Grey Lords and bring back to the people their stolen time.
For the 50th anniversary, our performance group, after the successful production "Are you a bad person?", now brings Michael Ende's classic children's book to the stage. In addition to nine children between the ages of 9 and 14, five adults are on stage and together they tackle the story, which seems more relevant today than ever before. Playing together across the generations gives the stage version a special charm.
