My City: Wie Münchner*innen für besseren Radverkehr kämpfen. Münchner Radentscheid und der ADFC

The Munich City Museum invites Munich residents to present their “idea for the city’s future” in the exhibition “What the City: Perspectives on Our City.” The exhibition brings together a collection of positive visions for the future of Munich’s urban community—some of which have already become reality, at least in part. These visions inspire hope, courage, and joy, and encourage others to get involved as well.

The Munich bicycle referendums for a citywide network of safe bike lanes and for the Old Town Bike Ring were the most successful citizen initiatives in the city’s history to date in 2019. They were driven by an alliance of stakeholders who, to this day, critically monitor and advise the city on the implementation of the climate-friendly transportation transition. The project is presented in the “My City” chapter. Activists from the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club (ADFC) and Radentscheid München will discuss their collective commitment, the shortcomings that still exist, and the successes of their alliance.

6:00 p.m.: Welcome with a presentation of the display case on the Radentscheid as “A Step Toward the City’s Future” in the exhibition “What the City. Perspectives on Our City”

6:45 p.m.: Cocktail reception and discussion with Mona Fuchs (2nd Mayor of the State Capital of Munich) and Andreas Schön, 1st Chair of ADFC Munich and Radentscheid spokesperson, at Café Nash
