Make neon sexy again!

We are thrilled to invite you to the opening of Anna Nezhnaya's solo show N.E.O.N. - NAUGHTY. EVIL. OBSESSED. NAKED. which will take place from Thursday, 28.03.2024, in our PopUp location at Brunnenstraße 25B.

With the title of the exhibition, N.E.O.N. - NAUGHTY. EVIL. OBSESSED. NAKED., is not only an artistic statement, but also a sophisticated acrostic that captures the unifying elements of the works on display. These adjectives aptly illustrate the common themes and place the word neon in a new context that emphasizes the diversity and significance of the artworks. Make neon sexy again!

Because in Anna's works, nude depictions of women, seductive snakes and demons are artistically taken up by neon light and reinterpreted in her unique style. The Berlin-based artist explores feminine archetypes and relates them to literature and mythology, taking the viewer on a journey through art history. In addition, her works, captured in glass and neon light, take a critical look at our digital obsession with perfection and beauty.

Anna's work was recently part of the group show THROUGH A GLASS BRIGHTLY at the König Galerie. Her neon sculptures can be found permanently in Berlin's trendy bars and nightlife venues. Well-known institutions such as the Telegraphenamt, the Georgia Bar and Kingsize adorn themselves with her works and make them an unmistakable feature of their premises. Most recently, the Borchardt restaurant acquired a work for their club in the basement for the Berlinale 2024.

However, Anna Nezhnaya's works not only play an important role in the art and culture scene, but are also part of Berlin's impressive architecture. An outstanding example of this are the two Kabbalistic trees of life, light installations by the artist, which adorn the main entrance to the largest Jewish meeting place Pears Campus. These two trees welcome visitors with vibrant colors and symbolically represent the two countries Germany and Israel as an oak and an olive tree.

From March 28, the radiant works by artist Anna Nezhnaya can be viewed and experienced at Brunnenstraße 25B in Berlin Mitte.
