Neuer Roman: Lesung mit Brizzi Bremse
In the organizer's words:
At just 26 years old, Fabian Girschick—aka Brizzi Bremse—has already successfully published two books. He appeared at Sub last year with “Mom, Why Is Everyone Laughing at Me?”
In his latest work, the novella “And at the Precipice, You Were Waiting for Me,” the young author explores themes such as mental health, friendships, relationships, family, and other facets of life. It is a story about darkness, intimacy, and the unexpected encounters that can save us.
In “And at the Precipice, You Waited for Me,” Brizzi Bremse follows the young Lonán. The protagonist suffers from severe depression and, after a traumatic experience, sees no way out for himself. In the darkest phase of his life, he meets Shae, someone who changes everything. But given Lonán’s mental state, does their closeness even stand a chance?
In his work, Brizzi Bremse sensitively addresses depression, suicidal thoughts, and the challenges faced by trans* people. To this end, he consulted extensively with experts in advance, including the German Society for Suicide Prevention and the Trans-Ident association in Munich.
That’s why Sub has invited not only Brizzi Bremse but also Sandra Höstermann and Patricia Schüttler from Trans-Ident to speak on the Sub stage about trans identity, representation, and the importance of sensitive visibility. This will make the reading an evening that both educates and offers hope.
