Offene Trauergruppe für suizidhinterbliebene Schwestern*

In the organizer's words:

We are Anne (she, they; 36) and Irina (she, her; 31), and we met in 2024 at a seminar for families bereaved by suicide. For us, grieving together and sharing experiences related to the suicide we’ve experienced has the potential to be empowering and strengthening, which is why we now want to start our own group for sisters* aged 21 and older who have lost a sibling to suicide. We envision topics such as coping with anniversaries and holidays, reactions from those around us, shifts in family dynamics, dealing with intense emotions, and anything else that may come up.

Since we’ve had unpleasant experiences in a mixed sibling group, we want this group to be explicitly for FLINTA individuals only.

IMPORTANT! Weare not therapistsand do not replace therapy. This is a group of survivors for survivors. The loss should have occurred at least 6 months to 1 year ago. The reason for this is that the group cannot address the specific needs that arise immediately following the loss. The group requires a
certain basic stability in dealing with the topic.

The first meeting is on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. From then on, we plan to meet every 3–5 weeks.
To get a rough idea of how many people are interested, please feel free to send us a registration via email. Walk-ins are, of course, also welcome.

The grief support group always begins and ends with a small ritual. We’ll gather the topics and needs everyone brings to the table and decide together what we’d like to focus on for that particular evening. We can also envision activities such as pottery, writing, or a trip to try axe throwing as the group progresses.

Our group is a space for exchange among equals, based on respect and appreciation.
We envision a self-organized group that can be shaped by all interested participants. Each person can decide for themselves what and how much they’d like to contribute, both in terms of content and organization.
If needed, the group will meet in English.
