The stars of Vienna's Burgtheater and numerous film and television productions bring Rainer Maria Rilke's unforgettable youthful work to life in a fascinating way. To the sound of Nikolai Tunkowitsch's violin, the tension between the hunger for life and the drama of war, which shaped the lives of an entire generation, becomes almost painfully palpable.
