Nocturne (Parade)
In the organizer's words:
The theater becomes a world of its own, somewhere between theater and circus, that instantly captivates children and adults alike: magical landscapes and fantastical creatures take shape from plastic and air. They whirl around, collapse, dissolve, and are reborn. A world of its own unfolds, where life and death come together in a dance.
In “Nocturne (Parade),” Phia Ménard uses air—as an invisible material—to create visual worlds that draw on personal memories while also coming to terms with the horrors of the present. The French artist is a master storyteller. She has dedicated the piece to her own father, whose compulsory service in the Algerian War once turned him into a pacifist.
