With their rhythmically adept and always modern sound, Northlane set new standards in the metalcore genre early on and quickly became one of the most important Australian metal bands of their generation. After tours with Architects, While She Sleeps and Being As An Ocean as well as appearances at the world's most relevant metal festivals, the musicians quickly made the leap to headlining tours themselves. Since the release of their breakthrough album "Singularity", Northlane have consistently reached number 3 in the Australian album charts. The record " Node" and their latest long player "Obsidian" even reached number 1 in the ARIA charts. While all albums since "Singularity ", released in 2013, were nominated for the Aria Music Award for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album, "Node " (2015), "Mesmer" (2017) and "Alien" (2019) won the award - the latter and "Obs idian" (2022) were also honored with the AIR Award for Best Independent Heavy Album of the Year. On April 12, Northlane will release their new EP "Mirror's Edge", which they will also perform in Germany for the first time on their upcoming tour in the fall. They will be supported by Novelists and Ten56 as support acts.

Founded in Sydney in 2009, Northlane first attracted attention in 2010 with their EP "Hollow Existence". With their debut album " Discoveries", which was released in 2011 via UNFD, the band has already shaken up the progressive metalcore genre. A position that they further consolidated on their second longplayer "Singularity" in 2013. With its atmospheric sound somewhere between djent and metalcore, " Quantum Flux " became a hit and turned Northlane into one of the most hyped metalcore bands of the moment beyond the circles of connoisseurs. However, with the departure of singer Adrian Fitipaldes in 2014, they were forced to take a break.

Together with new singer Marcus Bridge, the band's musical approach evolved into a more down-to-earth, straighter sound. Northlane2015further explored their progressive side on "Node" and presented songs that were recognizably more mature in their structures. Mesmer" also follows this path in 2017 with tracks such as the groovy "Citizen", but already hints at what will be further confirmed on "Alien" in 2019: Northlane are developing a modern sound, driven primarily by synthesizers on "Bloodline" and "4D" and adorned with industrial elements amidst groovy guitar riffs and catchy choruses. As a result, the single "Clockwork" becomes a paradigm for Northlane's post-2020 sound, which will be further expanded with the EP "5G" (2021), the sixth album "Obsidian" (2022) and the upcoming EP "Mirror's Edge". For their latest singles, they have brought Parkway Drive singer Winston McCall ("Miasma") and Karnivool singer Ian Kenny ("Afterimage") on board for exciting features that point to the versatility of their influences and facets. Northlane make it clear that their vision of modern metalcore has by no means been pushed to the extreme. The band's trademarks remain untouched: They are still their usual catchy, energetic and explosive selves.
