Oberneeland Kultur mit DOCTOR CLEANHEAD

The Heimatverein Oberneuland, together with the music agency Emotional.Zone, the event app Rausgegangen, Oberneuland Magazin and Cafe-Schwarz.TV,presents live music every 3rd Wednesday from October to April. From 19:00 to 21:00, whereby... the end of the concert is largely determined by the audience (i.e. you)! From May to September, EDEKA Maaßkultur takes over the open air concerts on the market square of Edeka Maaß every Wednesday.

Then come along and get a musical shot of recovery from the Mississippi Delta! Doctor Cleanhead prescribes a hefty dose of roots, gospel & blues - handmade, honest and funny. With driving grooves, earthy guitar sounds and songs full of soul, the band blows the everyday dust out of your head and puts you in a great mood.

True to the motto: "The blues cures the blues."
Side effects can be: tapping feet, clapping hands and a big grin on your face.

That's what John Lee Hooker once said. It is precisely this phrase that the four musicians of Doctor Cleanhead have made their own. Because their music is healing for the strained soul: simple in melody and lyrics, but all the more compelling in groove, and always with the courage to express honest and stirring emotions, from dreamy ballads to stomping boogie, from devout gospel to traditional Memphis music.
The band members consciously cultivate "musical simplicity": polyphonic vocals and original, non-electric instruments such as harmonica, mandolin, cajon and resonator guitar. The program ranges from Leadbelly and Muddy Waters to Fats Domino and Janis Joplin, whereby the pieces are reduced to the essentials and brought to the point. "Cleanhead" music, free of intellectual interference. However, this does not prevent the band members from telling interesting details about the history of the blues and its dazzling, but often forgotten representatives between the songs.

After all, blues is music made by people for people.
