Open-Air-Kino: Bürglkopf
In the organizer's words:
The museum garden becomes a movie theater: Together with the Austrian Cultural Forum Berlin, the MEK is presenting an open-air film series focusing on people, landscapes, and ways of life in the Tyrolean mountains.
High up in the Tyrolean Alps lies the Bürglkopf Return Center. Isolated from larger settlements, the center is intended to persuade people in the asylum process to leave the country—through return counseling, but above all through the isolation of the location.
In her documentary “Bürglkopf,” director Lisa Polster turns her attention to the people who come together at this unusual place: refugees, villagers, and tourists. Set against the backdrop of a spectacular Alpine landscape, the film explores themes of borders, belonging, and social contradictions.
After the screening, director Lisa Polster will discuss the making of the film and her on-site research. The discussion offers an opportunity to ask questions and engage in a shared exchange.
Before the film begins, you can visit the special exhibition “The Mountains of Tyrol,” which will remain open until the screening starts.
Drinks and snacks can be purchased on-site at KAFFEE. BlümchenKAFFEE also offers picnic baskets filled with Tyrolean specialties. Pre-order the “Tyrolean Family Basket” for 20 euros per person or the “Bretteljause deluxe” for 35 euros per person atinfo[at]esskultur-berlin.de.
