In the organizer's words:

The museum garden becomes a movie theater: Together with the Austrian Cultural Forum Berlin, the MEK is presenting an open-air film series focusing on people, landscapes, and ways of life in the Tyrolean mountains.

To conclude the film series, we’ll be featuring one of Tyrol’s most unusual artists. The documentary “The Downfall of the Alpine Region – D.U.D.A! Werner Pirchner” is a humorous yet multifaceted exploration of the composer, musician, and maverick Werner Pirchner (1940–2001).

Drawing on Pirchner’s work, director Malte Ludin embarks on a journey through Tyrol in search of clues. The result is not a traditional artist portrait, but a cinematic journey between tradition and modernity, natural beauty and social change. Fellow travelers and admirers such as André Heller, Josef Hader, and Felix Mitterer recall an artist whose influence extended far beyond Tyrol yet who remained closely connected to his homeland.

Before the film begins, you can visit the special exhibition “The Mountains of Tyrol,” which will remain open until the screening starts.

Drinks and snacks can be purchased on-site at KAFFEE. BlümchenKAFFEE also offers picnic baskets filled with Tyrolean specialties. Pre-order the “Tyrolean Family Basket” for 20 euros per person or the “Bretteljause deluxe” for 35 euros per person atinfo[at]esskultur-berlin.de.
