Open-Air-Kino: Zweitland

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

The museum garden becomes a movie theater: Together with the Austrian Cultural Forum Berlin, the MEK is presenting an open-air film series focusing on people, landscapes, and ways of life in the Tyrolean mountains.

The history of South Tyrol is marked by political tensions, questions of cultural identity, and differing visions for the future. The feature film “Zweitland” takes us back to 1961, when a series of bombings shook the region.

The story centers on the brothers Paul and Anton. While Paul wants to leave his hometown to study painting, Anton is uncompromising in his commitment to protecting the German-speaking minority—even by force if necessary. Amid family ties, political conflicts, and personal dreams, the film tells the story of a society in upheaval.

“Zweitland” combines historical events with a personal family story and offers a compelling glimpse into a region whose history continues to resonate to this day.

Before the film begins, you can visit the special exhibition “The Mountains of Tyrol,” which will remain open until the screening starts.

Drinks and snacks can be purchased on-site at KAFFEE. BlümchenKAFFEE also offers picnic baskets filled with Tyrolean specialties. Pre-order the “Tyrolean Family Basket” for 20 euros per person or the “Bretteljause deluxe” for 35 euros per person atinfo[at]esskultur-berlin.de.

Feature film, 2025, 112 minutes, FSK 12.
