CLOWN*ESSES shows the lives of contemporary feminist clowns who turn the world upside down beyond learned structures. The clowns Gözde and Lokke emancipate themselves from patriarchal structures and representations in search of their very own home. Between the stage and everyday life, they find their constant in change and enter into a dialog with themselves and the world. An underestimated art of theater becomes a niche of feminism. A documentary between reality and magic.
The subsequent discussion with director Jana Rothe is organized by the Initiative feministischer Circus.
