Open Air: SORRY, BABY
In the organizer's words:
Agnes, a young literature professor in New England, is thrown off course after a traumatic experience. While those around her go about their daily lives, she struggles with the feeling of being stuck. Spanning five chapters and several years, the film follows her journey back to herself—carried by sharp humor and the unconditional support of her best friend.
This highly acclaimed tragicomedy marks Eva Victor’s powerful feature film debut—a smart and tender story about healing, friendship, and quiet self-assertion. Produced by Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, and Mark Ceryak (MOONLIGHT, AFTERSUN) and the recipient of numerous awards (including the Waldo Salt Screenplay Award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival), the film marks the emergence of a new voice in contemporary U.S. independent cinema—with a keen sense for quiet moments, sharp humor, and narrative clarity.
As part of Cine k’s Open-Air Summer Cinema—from July 30 to August 30, 2026. Doors open 45 minutes before the film starts; the film begins at dusk. Weather-proof: no cancellations due to bad weather; the film will be shown indoors instead.
The film will be shown in the original English with German subtitles.
