Over the Border Festival - Mitsune

Japanese Psychedelic Shamisen music by Mitsune

With Mitsune, OVER THE BORDER is presenting an event at the Rüngsdorf Kulturbad for the first time - and is kicking off a three-day stay with anything but a normal concert.

The international line-up is regarded as one of the most exciting Japanese fusion and psychedelic folk bands in Europe. The focus is on the powerful Tsugaru Shamisen, which Mitsune combines with modern influences from folk, rock, jazz and ritual-psychedelic sounds. Traditional melodies and contemporary soundscapes merge into an energetic, hypnotic performance that is immediately captivating.

We are including this evening as a recommended program item in our festival because Mitsune demonstrates particularly impressively how lively and boundless music can be today.

April 24 promises to be an experience that charges from the very first minute - and becomes a single, intense work of art at the end.
