The repertoire ranges from swing classics by legends Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Benny Goodman to soul and funk à la Stevie Wonder and original original compositions by Micha Winkler, which delight with surprising stylistic breaks and rhythms. The band leader's humorous moderations also contribute to making a concert with the Dresden Big Band a special experience.

The classic big band line-up with five saxophones, four trumpets, four trombones and a rhythm section provides the characteristic sound that can be experienced at concerts in the Scheune cultural center, the Groovestation and other venues.

The Palais Sommer is the big open-air festival in Dresden. It combines music, art, dance, yoga, workshops, literature, gastronomy and much more. Free admission.

In 2026, the Palais Sommer will take place on Dresden's Neumarkt from June 20 to July 26. Afterwards, the daily yoga program will continue in Alaunpark until 30 August. A total of around 200 events are planned.
