Legend has it that Paco de Lucía made the cajón an inseparable part of flamenco culture after his trip to Peru in the 1970s. Today, almost half a century later, flamenco music would be unthinkable without the magical sound of this instrument.

This quartet, made up of musicians of different nationalities, boldly combines two styles that have been intertwined since the 20th century: the seductive dance of Afro-Peruvian jazz and the fiery passion of flamenco.

The Chilean percussionist and composer Pablo Sáez has lived in Germany since 2005. Since then he has been much in demand and firmly established in the German Latin jazz and world music scene. His new project "Palo Blanco" is an intense musical experience not to be missed.
