Nature play by Verena Regensburger and Netzwerk Münchner Theatertexter*innen.
The Panzerwiese in the north of Munich - an ambivalent place full of history: wasteland, airfield, military training ground, theater of war, object of speculation, now nature reserve. A place where nature and man interweave again and again, forming synergies or repelling each other.
In a collective writing process, the authors of the Netzwerk Münchner Theatertexter:innen (NMT) - Katrin Diehl, Jan Geiger, Denijen Pauljević, Theresa Seraphin and Rinus Silzle - together with the director Verena Regensburger, explore this interrelationship. In the spirit of anthropologist Anna Loewenhaupt-Tsing, the project asks the question, "Can I make the landscape the protagonist of an adventure in which people play only one role among others?" - A research process, a textual and haptic engagement with nature that speaks its own language. Thus, perspectives are changed, positions are exchanged, and different inhabitants, whether crows or toads, terrors or blades of grass, are considered just as much as the meadow itself - its defense mechanisms against humans and their imaginations and dreams.
The texts of the author collective are thus the basis for the development of the piece PANZER WIESE, which is created in reflexive collaboration with the director team and the performers. In the beginning there was the word, the authors' project, then the NMT team went in search of a suitable directing team - Verena Regensburger (director), Gwendolin Lehnerer (dramaturgy), Marie Häusner (set design), Azhar Syed (sound design). Through an invitation to tender, performers were cast who were curious to get involved in the joint experiment - Noemi Clerc, Maj-Britt Klenke and Dieter Rita Scholl. The project requires an adept handling of a text collage from different styles ranging from prose to poetry.
Gestures, movement images and snapshots develop in the space. The stage becomes a laboratory in which nature and man are not understood as opposites, but rather are read as diverse subject positions of an urban society whose flora and fauna contribute significantly to a diverse coexistence. In the dissolution of the solistic stage figure, the task is made to describe developments not in a purely anthropocentric way and thus in relation to human action, but to create a meeting place in which all participants of the meadow occupy an equal space.
