“PEPPA GOES ON VACATION” Clown-style dance theater for children ages 3 and up

Summer’s finally here—time for vacation! Now just quickly pack a suitcase and let’s get going. But wait! Where to, exactly? And what should she bring? Will it all even fit in the suitcase? And how does she get there—on vacation? And once she’s there, what does she actually do?
In the cozy studio theater at the Alte Wursterei in Cologne-Ehrenfeld, children ages 3 and up can attend a performance together with their parents or grandparents. The show lasts half an hour. Admission is paid after the performance, as you’re able. Afterward, you can relax and enjoy the moment with delicious cake, iced tea, and lemonade. Children get a free drink. And anyone who wants to can draw a picture for Peppa or write her a letter.

“Peppa Goes on Vacation” is one of seven productions for young audiences. These nonverbal dance theater pieces use dance, clowning, and music to tell stories based on themes from children’s everyday lives. They are characterized by subtle acting, a diverse range of movement, and empathetic interaction. Transcending linguistic and cultural barriers, the productions create emotional experiences entirely without words. They stimulate the children’s imagination, their own desire to play and be creative, and their (including verbal) interaction with one another. Since 2018, Peppa has been touring daycare centers in Cologne, the surrounding area, and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with her productions, and can also be seen at the Alte Wursterei. She has already reached more than 15,000 young audience members.
