The Klawitters' house is full of excitement. Conni is excited. Her parents are going to Uncle Albert's with her brother. Conni would have loved to go with them, but then she would miss Semire's birthday party. Of course, Conni and her cat Mau don't stay at home alone, because Grandpa Willi has come and Anna and Simon are even allowed to spend the night with her. But then an injured crane lands at their house and needs their help. It's not just the injury that's bothering Crane Klaus, but also his stuffy neighbor Mr. Oswald, who thinks his immaculately tended rose garden is in danger and is after Klaus. It's a good thing that Conni and her friends have the support of animal rights activist Renata and policewoman Selena. Much to the displeasure of tomcat Mau and Anna, everything now revolves around the funny bird. Will Conni and her friends manage together to get Klaus well in time to fly south with the migratory birds?
