In a world that often overlooks queer life in rural Saxony, we open a door to reality in taz Talk. Here stands Jonas Löschau: he is young, queer and a city councillor in Bautzen. Together we will talk about his experiences in local politics in the East and his personal life as a young, queer person.

Where does he get his energy and courage to stay where others leave? Why does someone like Jonas decide to stay in Bautzen and even become a city councillor instead of choosing the supposedly easier path of leaving? What does it even mean to be queer in Bautzen? And what challenges and opportunities does Löschau see in his work?

We will discuss these questions with Jonas Löschau and find out what it means for him to maintain his place in Bautzen.
