RAKITA - Rakı. Music. Encounter.

In the middle of Cologne-Mülheim, a space is being created that does not yet exist in this form: RAKITA is more than an event - it's an invitation. A night where rakı is not just drunk, but celebrated. Where Anatolian melodies meet electronic beats. Where migrant culture and club sound are not a contradiction, but a new, self-confident coexistence.

Supported by local artists, voices from the Cologne scene and accompanied by renk. Magazin (renk. e.V.), RAKITA transforms Café Toré - including its beautiful garden in the Kulturbunker - into an intercultural living room. Between tradition and the present, memory and reinvention, ritual and ecstasy, a space is being created that this city has been missing: a place for genuine connection.

Between Rakı-Adabı and club culture

RAKITA brings the cultural ritual of rakı drinking into the present day. For many people with a Turkish family history, rakı is more than just a drink - it is a symbol, a language, a sense of belonging. It stands for conversation, music, meze, melancholy - for a culture of pausing together.

This is exactly what we celebrate - with a contemporary twist:
Orientronica, live acts, DJ sets, light art and meze interweave to create an experience that is both intimate and ecstatic. Between Rakı-Adabı (ritual) and club culture, an atmosphere is created that doesn't need to be explained - it just happens.

Motto: Tension between tradition and the present day

RAKITA feels like a movie we all know but have never seen. A retro future full of longing and pride:
"1970s Italy meets Istanbul jet set" - an era that never quite existed, but that we long for this summer. Grainy 16mm film look, golden hour, a touch of megalomania.

At the center is a figure we all wish we were: elegant and free. This person is not a memory - she is a vision. A future that doesn't need to justify itself. On this evening, we dream ourselves there together. We imagine how we want to grow older: self-determined, exaggerated, a little glamorous - with a raki in our hands, the sun on our faces, music in the air.
