In their third show, Maja Lührsen and Theo Vagedes—aka Reisegruppe Ehrenfeld—catapult themselves into the orbit of the meaning of life, madness, and nonsense. These two versatile performers deliver dense wordplay, live music for all the senses, singing from another world, and dance choreography that’ll bring you to your knees. Not a dry eye in the house.
And, the two ask themselves, isn’t everything ultimately in the eye of the beholder anyway?
For a dictator, the meaning may lie in achieving sole world domination. For a bark beetle, collective rule over the forest is enough. For some, the fat-dissolving injection at the Institute for Medical Beauty is the solution to all problems; for others, it’s just a whole other kind of crap—nonsense, rubbish, or sheer hogwash.
The meaning of life? While she already has a possible answer ready, he hasn’t even understood the question yet. That’s when the duo likes to nonviolently cut each other off, only to rap in sync again the very next moment.
Will they answer the question of the meaning of life? Sure! And above all, of course, all that other crap.
