On March 27, Marie Gdaniec and Alina Schmolke will celebrate the release of their two books - of course - with a reading! Marie's "Gemischte Tüte", which will be published by Lektora Verlag on March 20, will provide a surprise or two and Schnickschnack Poetry Slam presenter Alina Schmolke will also present her collection of texts "Was bei mir so geht". Of course, as usual for the poetry slam team, all this will be accompanied by champagne, sweets and lots of bells and whistles. It will be cozy, it will be funny, it will be nice.
The reading is being organized by the newly founded Musenkollektiv - a queer-feminist event team consisting of Düsseldorf artists. With the kind support of Theatermuseum Düsseldorf and Lektora Verlag. Tickets can be purchased in advance via rausgegangen.de or the Theatermuseum.
About Marie:
How much and for how long can a person ignore their talents? Marie has answered this question with "yes". As a child, she wrote children's books, of course. As a teenager at school, she chose the literature course and stood at the lectern in the assembly hall with texts she had written herself. During her training as a photojournalist, she produced a magazine as her final project and then worked as an editor. But that she should perhaps do something with words and is actually quite good at it? Nah, you'd never think of that. In 2017, it finally clicked for Marie and she took to the stage for the first time - and she hasn't been off it since.
About Alina:
Alina Schmolke (she/her) was born in Hamburg in 2001. The U20 NRW champion has been performing on German-language poetry slam stages since 2016 and tells sometimes lyrical, sometimes prosaic stories from her everyday life: about breasts, trampolines and pink plush scarf pakas. Alina sometimes reads eight books in a week, but sometimes nothing for months on end. But then she buys all the more new literary products, which she then talks about on the Internet. She is also studying politics, sociology and media and communication sciences in Düsseldorf.
