In LOT, Fabian Riess and Tasha Hess-Neustadt deal with construction and decay. A draught of affect and resonance accelerates the act of stormy silence. For the past two years, the collective has been exploring the extremes of restriction and freedom, and their somatic research deals with their effects on the body. Based on a dystopian landscape, they interact with the space, follow impulses, create closeness and intimacy. Two performers in a trio with their surroundings.
Layers of rock melt and solidify into an arena. Circuits open and close. Everything is ready for the next future fantasy. LOT happens afterwards. After all organic linkages have merged into an echo, after all structures and systems have been torn down and time is only measured in movement.
The dancer and choreographer collective Riess Neustadt has been creating and dancing at the interface of somatics and installation since 2020. They work with material installations with which they interact through movement, sound and silence. In their dance practice, they work with physical states and somatic qualities of movement. The subject matter of their work has numerous cultural and subcultural aspects as well as queer perspectives. Their productions have already been shown at schwere reiter Munich, Gallus Theater Frankfurt, Delphi Space Freiburg and Tanzzentrale Nürnberg. In addition to their joint choreographic practice, they each work individually as dancers with choreographers such as Johannes Wieland and Simone Mousset.
