On a stormy night, Lovis and the robber chief Mattis have a child - a girl called Ronja. While the band of robbers is still marveling at the newborn child, a bolt of lightning strikes the Mattisburg and splits the castle in two. In between lies a hellmouth.
And one day, Ronja meets Birk, the son of Borka, Mattis' arch-enemy and leader of another band of robbers, in this hellmouth of all places.
At first, the children are just as hostile as their parents, but they save each other's lives and eventually become friends.

Mattis and Borka don't like this at all - Ronja and Birk flee the castle and live in the forest for a summer.

Astrid Lindgren's last great novel is the magnificent story of how the friendship of two children overcomes rifts and enmities - even the pit of hell. A story that could hardly be more valuable today.

From the Capitol Kindertheater team, who also brought "The Mannheim Jungle Book" to the stage. In a production that combines live music and sounds with the performance of the actors as in a radio play, thus making them visible.
