Ronja the Robber's Daughter is quite rightly a Lindgren classic! In this timeless film adaptation of Tage Danielsson's robber's tale from 1984, the special attraction lies in the mixture of realism and handmade special effects.
Ronja is born on a stormy night as the daughter of the robber chief Mattis. When she is allowed to explore the forest, she encounters mysterious creatures: Wild druids, gray gnomes, dark trolls and bumpkins. And she meets Birk, the son of the hostile robber clan. Despite all their differences and against their parents' wishes, a deep friendship grows between the two. Together they survive the winter and face the question of whether their bond is strong enough to overcome the old hatred between the families.
A wonderful movie about friendship, forgiveness and the courage to find your own way.
