The Berlin-based trio Roomer weaves noise and nostalgia into sweeping guitar anthems.

Members Ronja Schößler, Ludwig Wandinger, and Luka Aron have all made a name for themselves in the European folk, electronic, and avant-garde scenes; their long-standing friendship ultimately led to the band’s formation. Shoegaze and curious sonic exploration converge in Roomer’s music, combined with lyrics that read like fragments of thoughts from forgotten diaries. Clarity and haze, structure and free flow, intimacy and decay—all these contrasts hover here in a fragile balance.
This artistic language—marked by emotional directness and sonic density—was already clearly evident on their 2025 debut album, *Leaving It All To Chance*. This is now further expanded upon with *Staircase Made of Rope*, their second album on the Squama label. Created largely from improvisations and first takes, the album elevates impermanence to a method. Between silence and storm, melodies rise to the surface and then unexpectedly dissolve again.
Following their UK debut at London’s ICA and appearances at The Great Escape and ESNS, Roomer will tour Europe this fall with their new album in tow.
