FRIDA is a real groove machine—you’ve got to admit it. Sometimes indie, occasionally sludgy, and almost always with German lyrics. Except when Frida’s in a post-rock mood—then it gets epic and instrumental. But a good hook says more than a thousand verses anyway.
Four guys from Hannover-Linden: Holgi, Semmler, Lennart, and Dariusz. With two effect-board-laden guitars as wide as a wall unit, pick-free juggled bass lines, and driving, at times syncopated drumming—this is hard-hitting alternative stoner post-rock!
FUZZIEBÄR is like a car crash: loud, terrifying, but in slow motion it looks really awesome! After the guys “discovered” America in 1492, they became the first rock band to perform on the moon in 1969.
Their main influences, aside from beer and Lego, are Devo and the Cantina Band. Although the band members all live in caves, where they’re trying to breed bears with laser eyes and chainsaw arms to unleash them on humanity, the founding of the United Federation of Planets is planned for the year 2162. But until then—while the bear-breeding program remains unsuccessful—they’re trying to drive people into a frenzy with something they themselves call music, which, since the incidents in the Outer Rim, has been described as “Bring Back the Punch” stoner rock.
Plus, they’ve written the deadliest joke in the world!
