Occrasy are something of a new, young indie rock sensation in Sweden.

A little over a year ago, the band was still in its infancy—five friends from Borlänge who decided to play music in a basement just to pass the time. Their influences are clear—they cite The Beatles and The Hellacopters, among others, and their music teacher was none other than Gustaf Norén of Mando Diao—but despite these influences, it quickly became clear that they wanted to set their own stories to music.

Since the release of their debut single “Local Coke” last year, Occrasy have played on more and more stages across Sweden and have become a highly sought-after band. With their explosive and unique stage presence, they are among the most interesting bands leading the new wave of unfiltered guitar music that is currently taking Sweden by storm.

Some bands take years to find their sound—Occrasy have developed a distinctive musical identity in just a few months. On their debut EP, released in August 2025 via Roxy Recordings/Playground Music, the band collaborated with producer Niklas Berglöf and recorded the music at the legendary Gröndal Studio in Stockholm. In 2026, Occrasy will release their debut album.
