"Mahlzeit!" That’s not just the name of the exhibition—it’s also how Timo, the LWL-MAK’s Ruhr Valley tough guy, greets you. This guided tour is packed with the best stories—told in true Ruhr Valley style. It’s a casual, hands-on experience (the objects, not the guide!) with plenty of humor. Why is cutlery called “cutlery”? Why would someone “hand over the spoon”? And what was that glass phallus doing in the abbess’s outhouse? Timo answers these and more questions—without dry facts, but with plenty of tall tales.

About Timo: Timo can do it all: cemetery gardener, trained archaeologist, blacksmith, tattoo artist. Instead of going on to become a pirate, he started working as a guide at the LWL-MAK in Herne. Timo just can’t be boring. (By the way, this tour is more suited for adults!)
