Vortrag: Kannibalismus

What do archaeology, pop culture, and psychology have in common? A fascination with cannibalism. What lies behind it? Three short talks by three experts in their respective fields provide answers: 

Archaeology & Cannibalism
Did Neanderthals eat humans? It’s time to dispel the historical myth of the “cannibal” and show that accusations sometimes reveal more about the accuser than the accused.

Pop Culture, Media Studies & Cannibalism 
History became fiction: “Naked and Torn Apart” is just one of many horror films that, based on historically developed theories, racism, and psychology, play on the fear of the “cruel cannibal.” 

Psychology & Cannibalism
The idea of eating people turns most people’s stomachs. Vorarephilia, on the other hand, specifically describes the sexually charged pleasure derived from the idea of devouring or being devoured.
