In the organizer's words:
Charity Movie Night for the earthquake victims in Venezuela. Admission is by donation. Proceeds from the donations will go to the aid organization Aktion Deutschland Hilft to support those affected in Venezuela.
Starting at 7:00 p.m., the museum will be open for a relaxed after-work stroll through the exhibition.
At 8:30 p.m., we’ll screen the documentary “Ruina” by Markus Lenz.
Following the screening, there will be a discussion with the director. Refreshments and tasty snacks will be served.
Markus Lenz is a freelance documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, and producer. With the help of a scholarship from the “Facultad de Bellas Artes” at the Universidad Nacional in Bogotá, Colombia, he completed his film “Ruina” (2014). In 2015, he founded the Cologne Documentary Film Collective and the production company DOKOMOTIVE with colleagues.
We are screening “Ruina” in cooperation with the Dokomotive Platform and with the kind support of the film distributor rotzfrech_cinema
“Ruina” portrays the socialist microcosm within the illegally occupied high-rise ruin Torre Confinanzas: the largest vertical barrio in all of Latin America, right in the heart of Caracas.
