SAGITTARIUS A* - Das supermassive Schwarze Loch im Herzen der Milchstrasse

In our cosmic neighborhood there is a supermassive black hole in the constellation Sagittarius: "Sagittarius A*". This gravity monster in the heart of the Milky Way is the closest to Earth and has a mass of four million suns. How do we know that? What does it do to its surroundings? And could we actually survive there? In his lecture, Florian Peißker addresses these questions and also provides an outlook on the past, future and current state of science surrounding the center of our galaxy.
