Horns Erben has something truly unique: an original Hammond “B3” organ. Since February 2023, it has been a feature of the jazz session at Horns every third Thursday.

Established as a solo instrument as early as the 1950s by jazz greats like Jimmy Smith and Milt Buckner, it can later be heard hissing, smacking, and shimmering in the background on countless soul, funk, and R&B recordings. To this day, with its warm sound and piercing high notes, it continues to live up to its place in music history.

In a city where even Bach rendered immeasurable service to the church organ, Horns Erben is now opening a new chapter in the local jazz scene with this unique instrument.
